Character Mentions in the Lord of the Rings

A while back I looked at the frequency of character mentions in the Hobbit. I was interested to see what it would look like for a more complex book such as the Lord of the Rings. The graph below shows mentions of important characters throughout the Lord of the Rings, excluding the appendices at the end of the Return of the King.
